Qualifications

• Relevant field of study in civil/structural/traffic engineering.
• Degree such as MSc or AMK is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform corridor design integrating with utilities, geotechnics, bridges, environment and urban design.
• Coordinate solutions with other disciplines and participate in QA or method development.

Job description

The road and street design expertise in this role is visible in people's everyday life by contributing to safer roads, better streets and smoother traffic connections. Our infrastructure design team is growing, and we are now seeking a road and street designer for road and highway projects. Tampere, Helsinki or Jyväskylä can also be potential locations. In this position you will work on road and highway projects with support from an experienced infrastructure team and a network of over 450 traffic and infrastructure specialists. You may choose to focus your expertise either on road or street design. The most important thing is that you want to deliver high-quality corridor design in close collaboration with other design disciplines. The role offers room to grow in the direction that suits you best: deeper road and street design, moving toward chief designer or project manager roles.

What you will do:

• The daily focus is corridor design and coordinating solutions with other disciplines.
• You will design road and street plans as part of infrastructure projects.
• You will perform corridor design where your solutions integrate with e.g. water utilities, geotechnics, bridges, environment and traffic design as well as urban design.
• You may participate in quality assurance or develop common working methods.
• This is suitable for someone who knows road or highway projects and wants to work closely with experts from different disciplines.
