Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking Supplier Development Engineers to drive supplier development and quality assurance across global supplier networks. The role focuses on improving supplier performance, audits, and implementing action plans while travelling up to 40% of the time.

Primary location is Finland, with potential placements in Italy or other Wärtsilä sites. Hybrid work arrangement offered to support decarbonisation and sustainable technology delivery.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or Economics and Business Administration or equivalent.
• Fluency in English, spoken and written.
• Experience with SAP and PowerBI.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and execute supplier development actions.
• Monitor and analyze supplier performance and trigger action plans.
• Take ownership of quality, delivery and cost activities.
• Support suppliers with operational efficiency and product improvement initiatives.
• Assess supplier compliance, perform supplier ratings and audits.
• Act as a point of contact for suppliers with quality, delivery or technical problems.
