Job summary

Wärtsilä in Finland is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to strengthen our quality and supplier performance programs. You will develop and execute supplier development actions, monitor performance, and drive improvements across our supplier base.

The role requires travel about 40% to meet with suppliers, and collaboration across cross-functional teams using SAP and PowerBI. A MSc or BSc in Engineering or related field is preferred, plus fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and execute supplier development actions.
• Monitor and analyse supplier performance and trigger action plans.
• Take ownership of quality, delivery and cost activities.
• Support suppliers with operational efficiency and development initiatives.
• Assess and follow up on supplier compliance and perform audits.
• Act as contact for suppliers with quality, delivery or technical problems.
