Job summary

VEO is seeking a Project Manager for civil works to lead the civil scope of turnkey substation projects across Finland. You will oversee planning, execution and site activities, coordinating customers, teams, engineers, contractors and authorities to deliver on time, safely and within budget.

The ideal candidate has a technical civil engineering degree and proven experience in large-scale civil construction, with strong cost control and risk management capabilities.

Qualifications

• A technical education (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in civil engineering, construction management or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid experience in civil construction projects, preferably related to substations, power generation facilities, hydropower plants or other industrial energy infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of construction methods, contractor management and project execution.
• Experience with construction permits, authority requirements, construction supervision and larger contracts is considered an advantage.
• As a Project Manager, you can balance the big picture with attention to detail. You take ownership of your projects and ensure progress, quality and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate civil construction activities from early sales phase through project execution to final completion.
• Work closely with customers, internal teams, engineers, contractors and authorities to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Plan and supervise civil construction works, coordinate contractors, monitor schedules and costs, ensure permits and quality requirements.
• Participate in contractor selection and procurement processes to choose suitable partners for each project.
• Contribute to project development during the sales phase with expertise on construction execution, cost estimation, schedules and risks.
