Job summary

Aalto University Financial Services is seeking a Project Controller to manage the financial lifecycle of externally funded research projects and to administer the overall funding of research groups. The role involves budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and reporting to ensure compliance with funder rules.

You will build clear financial insights for project leaders, perform ad-hoc calculations, and communicate with domestic and international partners.

Qualifications

Knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
A higher education degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
Proactive and organized way of working.
Service mindset and ability to communicate clearly with non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to manage details while seeing the bigger picture.
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and Excel/BI basics.
Fluency in Finnish and English.

Responsibilities

Manage the financial lifecycle of externally funded research projects and administer funding of research groups.
Budgeting, monitoring, forecasting and reporting for a portfolio of projects; ensure funder rule compliance.
Handle invoicing and create management reports and ad-hoc calculations.
Provide clear financial insights to project leaders to improve predictability and decision-making.
Communicate with domestic and international partners on project financial matters.
