Job summary

SSAB is seeking an experienced Business Innovation Manager to lead the strategic development of growth opportunities for SSAB Europe, bridging market insights with technical and commercial feasibility. The role drives priority setting across segments, structures techno-commercial business cases and aligns with Nordic transformation and product-line priorities.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product Lines, Technical Development, R&D and Sustainability teams to validate opportunities and shape

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in steel, metals, industrial manufacturing or a comparable B2B environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage SSAB Europe’s growth portfolio across segments and horizons.
• Identify, assess and shape growth opportunities considering market, regulation and technology developments.
• Lead techno-commercial business cases covering fit, value, feasibility and risks.
• Define customer problems, differentiated value propositions and validation plans with cross-functional teams.
• Own the Business Innovation portfolio and maturation gates with clear criteria and decisions.
• Coordinate opportunity development with Sales, Product Lines, Tech Development and other stakeholders.
• Be part of the commercial transformation steering group to own future growth opportunities.
• Support Market intelligence projects and SSAB Zero initiatives when needed.
