Job summary

SSAB in Finland is seeking an Area IT Manager to lead local IT development and oversee regional IT operations across Europe. The role combines leadership with hands-on execution in a dynamic, international environment.

You will drive strategy, manage budgets and vendor relations, and promote sustainable, secure IT services with a hybrid work model in Alajärvi or nearby sites. Fluent Finnish and English are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Experience leading IT teams and regional IT operations.
• Strong strategy, roadmap execution, and budget management.
• Fluent Finnish and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the Area Europe IT roadmap and resource planning.
• Ensure day-to-day IT support and development activities align with IT policies.
• Manage team IT costs, including budgeting and proposals.
• Oversee contracts and vendor management, including invoicing.
• Collaborate with SSAB IT on infrastructure and application development.
• Define collaboration models with business stakeholders across Europe.
• Act as contact for infrastructure topics within Ruukki Construction IT management.
• Act as line manager for the local IT team in Finland and lead regional IT managers in Europe.
