Job summary

SSAB is seeking a Development & Governance Manager for IT Procurement to lead governance, digitalization and contract management initiatives. You will shape modern, scalable procurement processes and oversee Software Asset Management for a global IT footprint.

This 18-month assignment focuses on process development, supplier governance and digital tools. Strong English, Excel and PowerPoint skills are required, with a background in economics, technology or law.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in procurement, preferably IT procurement.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, sourcing, supplier management and contract governance.
• Excellent communication, structured, proactive and collaborative.
• English skills with strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and standardize Source-to-Contract and Procure-to-Pay processes to strengthen governance and process maturity.
• Drive supplier lifecycle management, onboarding and sustainability requirements.
• Maintain contract and RFx templates, clause libraries and procurement documentation with key stakeholders.
• Govern key contracts and Digital Roadmap agreements, including cost follow-up and risk prevention.
• Develop digital procurement capabilities, automation and AI-enabled ways of working to improve efficiency.
• Deliver analytics, reporting and KPI frameworks to increase transparency and support data-driven decisions.
• Establish and govern Software Asset Management practices to optimize licenses and control costs.

Job description

SSAB is undertaking a strategic transformation to revolutionize iron- and steelmaking and become the world’s first steel company to deliver iron ore-based fossil-free steel. To support this journey, we are looking for a motivated and business-oriented Development & Governance Manager to join IT Procurement, focusing on Procurement Excellence & Digitalization, Contract Management and Software Asset Management.

About the position

In this role, you will be part of SSAB’s transformation journey and contribute to the development of a modern, digital and value-adding IT Procurement function.

As Development & Governance Manager, you will take a key role in strengthening professional, compliant and scalable ways of working across IT Procurement, with a focus on process development, contract governance, digital tools and Software Asset Management.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to turn business needs and new requirements into practical improvements, efficient processes and sustainable ways of working.

This is an opportunity for a structured, proactive and business-oriented person who wants to influence how IT Procurement operates, develops and creates value in an international business environment.

The position is temporary (18 months), with placement according to agreement, and occasional travel may be required depending on business needs and project activities.

Main responsibilities

The responsibilities below are carried out from an IT Procurement perspective and in close collaboration with relevant business, IT and corporate stakeholders.

• Develop and standardize Source-to-Contract and Procure-to-Pay processes to strengthen governance, compliance and process maturity.
• Drive supplier lifecycle management, onboarding and sustainability requirements.
• Maintain contract and RFx templates, clause libraries and procurement documentation together with key stakeholders.
• Govern key contracts and Digital Roadmap agreements, including cost follow-up, change management and risk prevention.
• Develop digital procurement capabilities, automation and AI-enabled ways of working to improve efficiency, quality and adoption.
• Deliver analytics, reporting and KPI frameworks to increase transparency and support data-driven decision‑making.
• Establish and govern Software Asset Management practices to optimize licenses, control software costs and ensure audit readiness.

You have several years of experience in procurement, preferably within IT procurement, and a solid understanding of procurement processes, sourcing, supplier management and contract governance.

As a person, you are structured, proactive and collaborative, with high integrity and strong communication skills. You take ownership, drive improvements and work in a methodical and results‑oriented way.

You are comfortable working in an international environment with multiple stakeholders and can communicate effectively with business representatives, project teams, legal, information security and suppliers.

We expect you to have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in economics, technology, law or another relevant field. You have very good written and spoken English skills, as well as strong professional skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience from digital procurement tools, contract management systems, Software Asset Management, license management, sustainability requirements or AI-enabled ways of working is considered an advantage.
