Job summary

Patria Oyj is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to join the IT Enterprise Architecture team. The role will primarily be based in Tampere with flexible on-site requirements and travel.

You will harmonize business processes, IT capabilities and architecture across projects, collaborating with stakeholders, PMs, architects and IT experts including cybersecurity and data teams. You will ensure designs address business and IT needs across applications, data, security, technology and services,

Qualifications

We are now searching for a

Solution Architect

to join our Enterprise Architecture team in Patria Group IT Team.

Your primary working location is Tampere, but Hämeenlinna, Helsinki, Espoo or Jämsä Halli can also be considered. In this role, you will have approximately 50 % on-site work requirements, and there is an average of 30 travel days per year, primarily domestic travel.

In this role, you will help shape business-critical solutions across a range of projects. You will drive the harmonization of business processes, IT capabilities, and architecture across the organization. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, project managers, architects, and a wide range of subject matter experts across IT, cybersecurity, information security, compliance, data, and AI.

As a Solution Architect, you will ensure that solution designs address business and IT requirements across applications, data, security, technology, and services, both within projects and as a foundation for future services. You will help guide projects from idea to implementation while maintaining alignment with Patria's architecture principles, target architecture, and long-term technology vision.

You will become part of an IT development community consisting of experienced in-house professionals and trusted external partners. This diverse network offers excellent opportunities to collaborate, learn, and contribute to a wide range of strategic business and technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and develop scalable, high-performance architectures that meet business requirements.
• Lead the design work and implementation of solutions, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to project and IT service and application teams.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance our solutions.
• Identify and assess suitable use cases for AI and modern technologies as part of solution planning and development.
• Work closely with business and process developers to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
• Ensure that all solutions are aligned with the company's overall business strategy and goals.

What kind of person are we looking for?

We are looking for a senior professional who understands overall IT architecture and is eager to work closely with the business side. This role requires understanding in IT architecture across different architecture layers. We are not necessarily seeking a niche expert in one technical area, but rather a generalist who can independently connect business needs with practical, secure and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development and a proven track record of designing and implementing innovative solutions that drive business growth.

Required Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in solution architecture and business development.
• Senior-level capability to work independently in a developing environment where operating models, methods and tools are continuously developing.
• Strong understanding of development / project methodologies and best practices.
• Understanding of multiregulated business environment.
• Excellent and independent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate complex (technical) concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to understand business needs and discuss solution requirements effectively with business stakeholders.
• Excellent English skills, Fluent Finnish skills are a plus.
• Flexibility and a development-oriented mindset toward building ways of working.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher education in Computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Practical experience with IT infrastructure and information security.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
