Job summary

Ventura Labs is building a SaaS platform for ecommerce brands and is seeking a software engineer to join as one of the first builders. You’ll help design core systems and lay the foundation for the engineering team from day one, working closely with the founders to shape the product's direction.

You’ll own meaningful technical decisions, leverage daily AI tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality, and thrive in a fast-moving startup environment.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on software engineering experience in startups or fast-moving teams.
• Proven ability to design and ship products largely independently.
• AI-native: you use AI coding tools daily to ship faster without lowering quality.
• Strong full-stack skills with TypeScript and Node.js; other modern stacks welcome.
• Familiarity with advertising APIs (Meta, Google, TikTok) is a plus.
• Genuine interest in SaaS products and driving real customer value.

About the role

Do you want to be one of the first engineers behind the next big SaaS company in ecommerce?

We’re building a platform that will change how ecommerce brands acquire customers, making customer acquisition far more efficient than anything on the market today. You’ll join before the product launches and build it from the ground up. You’ll work side by side with the founders, own key technical decisions and lay the foundation our engineering team will grow on. What you build will be used by brands around the world, because we’re building for global markets from day one.

This role suits someone who enjoys ownership and is energised by the chance to build without layers of process in the way.

Ventura Labs is building a SaaS platform that helps ecommerce brands acquire customers more efficiently. Our founding team runs its own eight-figure ecommerce brand, and we see firsthand where today’s tools fall short. Now we’re building the software we always wished we had.

What you bring

• Several years of hands-on software engineering experience, ideally in a startup or fast-moving product team

• A track record of designing and shipping products or major systems largely on your own

• You work AI-native: you use AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor or similar daily to ship faster without lowering the quality bar

• Strong full-stack skills and experience building reliable, data-intensive systems. We build with TypeScript and Node.js; experience with them is a plus, but strong engineers from any modern stack are welcome

• Familiarity with advertising APIs (Meta, Google, TikTok) is a strong plus

• Genuine interest in building SaaS products and in how great software drives real results for its customers

What we offer

This is a permanent, full-time role at the very start of the company. You’ll join before the product launches, which means the architecture, the tooling and the way we build software will carry your fingerprints for years to come. You’ll work directly with the founders, with short decision paths and no layers of management between an idea and production. We use AI throughout how we work, and we expect it to keep changing how software gets built, so you’ll have room to try new tools and ways of working.

• Salary: €5,000–€9,000 per month, based on experience

• Employment type: Permanent, full-time

• Location: Helsinki, on-site

• Start date: Immediately or as soon as possible, by agreement
