Job summary

Elekta in Helsinki is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver innovative software for healthcare technology. You will work in an Agile environment, building integrations and APIs that connect clinical and healthcare systems, supporting oncology workflows worldwide.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and microservices using Python or C# (.NET Core).
• Knowledge of SQL databases, test automation, and software quality best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software throughout the full lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable products.

Software Engineer

What You’ll Do At Elekta

As a Software Engineer at Elekta, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering innovative software solutions that support life-changing healthcare technology. Working within a collaborative Agile environment, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle and work closely with cross-functional teams to build reliable and scalable solutions. In this role, you will help develop integrations and APIs that enable seamless communication between clinical and healthcare software systems, supporting critical oncology workflows used by healthcare professionals worldwide. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable products, services, and solutions.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and participate in architecture discussions within the team.
• Ensure software quality through documentation, risk analysis, and testing support.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance tests to support reliable software delivery.
• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with engineering teams to coordinate dependencies and contribute to engineering best practices.

What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and microservice-based applications using Python or C# (.NET Core).
• Experience developing modern web applications, including Single Page Applications (SPA) using TypeScript and Angular, is desirable.
• Good understanding of SQL databases, test automation, and software quality best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native technologies, and Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and continuous learning mindset.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
