Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our international development team in Helsinki. You will participate in the full software lifecycle, focusing on a mission-critical treatment management system and leveraging modern stacks, cloud-native design, and Generative AI opportunities.

You will collaborate with Product Management and Architecture teams, contribute to architecture design, data flow, and integration strategies while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering with C#/.NET or another OO language.
• Experience in distributed, service-oriented systems.
• Web UI and cloud development experience, using Angular or similar framework.
• Fluency in English language, both written and verbal.

Domain Driven Design is the backbone of our design thinking, elements of the Microservices style drive the deployment. The Event Driven Architecture style and CQRS are means of achieving the right decoupling.

As a member of an agile team working on Varian's next generation treatment management system, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle from design and implementation to production deployment and operation support.

We are looking for someone with strong development skills, passion for modelling and sustainable design and web development experience.

As Senior Software Engineer, you will also be involved in the design of the software architecture, including defining interfaces, data flow, and integration strategies leveraging modern technology stacks.

You will collaborate with the Product Management and System Architecture teams to leverage emerging technologies, including Generative AI, to enhance the development cycle and enable modernization of the existing software.

What Will Set You Apart

• Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies and distributed system design.
• Experience applying Generative AI to software development.
• Experience in software architecture and the design of distributed software systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• A passion for innovation and continuous learning.

Your Role

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• In-depth knowledge of software engineering and experience using C#/.NET or another object-oriented language.
• Experience in software development of distributed, service-oriented systems.
• Web UI and cloud development experience, using Angular or similar framework.
• Fluency in English language, both written and verbal.

Any Of The Following Is a Plus

• Experience with virtualization and containerization.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with automation and scripting, such as PowerShell or Ansible.
• Knowledge of current containerization and orchestration technologies in a Linux environment, including Kubernetes, Docker, and networking stacks.
• Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, such as DICOM and DICOM networking and safety-critical software development.
