Job description

Come and help build a better everyday life for children and families - apply to be a social worker in Forssa!

Do you want your work to be meaningful, professionally challenging, and supported by a strong team? Are you inspired by varied situations and the opportunity to genuinely influence the daily lives of children and families?

If you answered yes, you might be the child welfare outpatient social worker we are looking for.

We are seeking a social worker for a permanent position at Oma Häme's Forssa office. You will become part of a competent and warm-hearted team consisting of four social workers, a social guide, and three family workers. We are currently working in the facilities of the Forssa Hospital.

In Kanta-Häme, working according to the systemic model is important, and implementing it is our shared task. We actively develop structures and consultation methods that support the work. As a social worker, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team. We have our own child welfare family therapist who participates in systemic weekly meetings and supports client work. Our leading social workers act as consulting social workers within the teams. Systemic work is not just about meetings; it is the common thread of all our operations. Services needed by a family and child can be started quickly, implemented by the team's own staff.

Multidisciplinary teamwork has increased our well-being at work. You are never left alone; the team strongly supports you. A work partner can be found within the team, and help can be requested with a low threshold. We attend team supervision regularly, and individual supervision is arranged as needed. Our workplace has a good community spirit that is visible and audible. Our employer is development-oriented and views employees' projects and training positively.

We use flexible working hours, and you have the possibility to work remotely two days a week.

We require experience in child welfare duties, a driver's license, the ability to manage overall processes and assess client situations, as well as the ability for independent decision-making and working in high-pressure situations. Experience working with children and families and knowledge of legislation are considered assets. We value good interaction skills as well as proficiency in documentation and communication.

We require the qualification of a licensed social worker.

In the absence of applicants meeting the qualification requirements, the position may be filled on a fixed-term basis for a maximum of one year by a person studying to be a social worker who has successfully completed basic and intermediate studies in social work and practical training, or a Bachelor of Social Services (AMK) with open university studies in social work (basic and intermediate studies) and sufficient practical experience and professional skill, or a person with a suitable university degree in social sciences who has sufficient practical work experience and basic and intermediate studies in social work.

The most suitable person will be selected based on education, experience, and interview.

Oma Häme offers extensive employment benefits:

  • Commuting benefit
  • Epassi Flex culture, well-being, and sports benefit
  • Occupational health services at Terveystalo
  • Up to 38 days of vacation per year based on work experience (Saturdays do not consume vacation days)
  • Diverse training opportunities for all staff

Interviews will be held on September 2, 2026.

The person selected for a position working with children must present a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act (770/1993) in accordance with Section 3 of the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002) before starting work, as well as an acceptable medical certificate within the specified time after the selection decision.

Salary and other terms of employment are determined according to the SOTE agreement. The probationary period is six months. Immediate patient and client work requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a respiratory tuberculosis clearance according to Section 55.

At Oma Häme, we want to support scientific research by granting paid leave for, for example, writing a doctoral thesis, a final thesis for a higher university degree, or other scientific research. In accordance with our strategy, we promote the diversity and equality of our staff. Oma Häme is a smoke-free organization.
