Job summary

Fohntech Group in Helsinki is seeking a Site Supervisor to lead on-site ventilation installations for large-scale data centre projects. You will drive safety, quality, and daily target delivery, reporting to the Site Manager with strong capability in reading complex mechanical drawings and using field-tracking tools on mobile devices.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in mechanical supervision, with preferred experience in data centres or cleanrooms, and holds a valid mechanical trade

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a mechanical supervisor, foreman, or lead installer on large-scale ventilation projects.
• Data centre, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing/builds experience is highly desirable.
• Valid trade qualification in mechanical engineering, sheet metal installation, or building services.

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site installation crews to meet daily productivity targets.
• Coordinate day-to-day floor logistics for ventilation ductwork and equipment.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and review work with crews before start.
• Inspect ductwork installations for cleanliness, leveling, and sealing to high specs.
• Witness field tests for ductwork pressure/leakage and structural anchors.
• Identify clashes from 3D drawings and coordinate resolutions with Site Manager/engineering.
• Maintain a real-time snag list and ensure defects are corrected promptly.
• Inspect incoming ventilation components for damage or contamination.
• Monitor materials and tools to prevent downtime and delays.
• Ensure strict adherence to RAMS and data centre clean build protocols.

Fohntech group are looking for Site Supervisor in Helsinki.

The Site Supervisor provides front-line, day-to-day leadership to ventilation installation. The Site Supervisor is responsible for driving field safety, physical installation quality, and daily target delivery. The Site Supervisor will report to the Site Manager. The Site Supervisor must have a detailed understanding of Ventilation systems and experience working in large scale data centres.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, motivate, and direct on-site installation crews ensuring compliance with daily productivity and installation targets.
  
• Coordinate day-to-day floor logistics, including the movement of heavy ductwork sections, inline equipment, and containment elements from laydown areas to final positions.
  
• Conduct daily morning toolbox talks and review all works with crews before work commences.
  
• Perform continuous site inspections to ensure all ductwork installations meet high-spec cleanliness, leveling, and sealing requirements (e.g., DW144, SMACNA standards).
  
• Coordinate and witness primary field quality tests, including ductwork pressure/leakage testing (DW143) and structural anchor drop tests.
  
• Identify field clashes or deviations from the 3D construction drawings and elevate them to the Site Manager or engineering team for swift resolution.
  
• Maintain a real-time field snag list, ensuring that installation defects are corrected immediately by the trade crews.
  
• Inspect incoming ventilation components and plant equipment for damage or contamination upon arrival at the floor area.
  
• Monitor materials usage and tool availability to prevent operational downtime for installation teams.
  
• Ensure absolute compliance with data centre "clean build" protocols, verifying that open ductwork ends remain sealed against dust and debris throughout the construction cycle.
  
• Monitor the workspace continually to ensure that all tasks, particularly working at height, mechanical lifting, and hot works, are conducted in strict accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  
• Correct unsafe field behaviors or conditions immediately, executing a stop work authority if an imminent hazard is identified.
  
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across all active ventilation installation zones.
  
• Valid supervisory safety credential (e.g., white card). Valid certifications for working at height, mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), etc.
  
• Advanced ability to read, interpret, and work directly from complex mechanical blueprints, isometric drawings, and schematic layouts.
  
• Proficiency in utilizing digital field-tracking tools (such as Procore, Autodesk Build, BIM360, Visalean or Fieldwire) via mobile or tablet devices for logging daily reports and snags.
  
• Have revit and Navisworks experience.
  
• Natural capability to command respect on the tool floor, settle minor field disputes, and keep crews focused under tight timelines.
  
• High standards for visual and mechanical alignment, ensuring neat, airtight installations.
  
• Ability to devise field-level workarounds for minor installation hurdles without compromising design intent or safety.
  

Experience

• 3+ years of experience as a mechanical supervisor, foreman, or lead installer handling large-scale commercial or industrial ventilation packages.
  
• Prior experience working on data centre projects, cleanrooms, high-tech manufacturing, or pharmaceutical builds is highly desirable.
  
• Valid trade qualification in mechanical engineering, sheet metal installation, or building services.
