Job summary

Ardmac in Turku, Finland seeks a safety-focused site supervisor to deliver projects under Ardmac Safety First principles. You will supervise contracts, ensure site inductions, and implement live safety statements and risk assessments across sites.

You will develop safe systems of work, review subcontractor documentation, and maintain control measures in public or occupied spaces. Strong coordination and training skills are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety management on construction sites.
• Knowledge of design procurement and construction methods.
• Understanding of risk assessment and live safety documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and supervise subcontractors.
• Familiarity with contractual positions, claims handling and L&E.
• Experience with management systems and safety statements.
• Proven ability to coordinate, monitor and inspect on-site work.
• Strong communication of safety training and inductions.

Responsibilities

• Review Sub-Contractors documentation for adequacy in planning, risk, training, resources and supervision.
• Coordinate, monitor and inspect activities to ensure safe completion; seek Safety Department advice when needed.

Job description

• Deliver Projects in accordance with Ardmac Safety First Guiding Principles.
• Ensuring adequate supervision is in place on all contracts under his/ her control.
• Ensure site specific induction training is carried out for all personnel under control.
• The development of or ensuring the development of safe systems of work utilising generic risk assessments to develop task specific assessments.
• Ensuring contract specific site safety statements are developed including all subcontracted works. These safety statements must be maintained as ‘live’ documents for the duration of the project.
• Ensure where any work is executed in public areas and occupied buildings, that adequate control measures are implemented to ensure the safety of anyone who may be affected.
• The provision of or ensuring that information, instruction and training is provided to Operatives and Subcontractors in emergency procedures and the content of Risk Assessments and safe systems of work.
• Ensuring the review of Sub-Contractors documentation for adequacy with regard to task planning, risk assessment, training, resources and supervision on their sites.
• Ensure activities are coordinated, monitored and inspected regularly to ensure the work is being completed safely.
• Ensure help or advice is promptly obtained from the Safety Department as required
