About the Role:
The HSE Advisor will provide competent, proactive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) support to the LPP08 project, ensuring full compliance with H&MV Engineering HSE standards, applicable local legislation, and client / PMC requirements. The role supports safe planning, execution, and delivery of works while promoting a strong safety culture on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Always Promote H&MV’s HSE values and lead by example on site.
- HSE Support & Site Engagement Support senior HSE Advisors and site management in the implementation of H&MV HSE procedures and site rules.
- Actively engage with project teams, supervisors, and contractors to reinforce safe behaviours and expectations.
- Support site management in fulfilling their HSE responsibilities.
- Site Safety & Compliance Maintain a strong and visible site presence during all phases of the project.
- Verify compliance with H&MV procedures, site rules, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor works to ensure Safe Systems of Work are implemented and maintained.
- Exercise Stop Work Authority where uncontrolled or imminent risk is identified.
- High‑Risk Activity (HRA / E‑HRA) Management Support identification, planning, and control of High‑Risk Activities (HRA’s) and Extra High‑Risk Activities (E‑HRA’s).
- Verify that approved RAMS, permits, and authorisations are in place prior to works commencing.
- Ensure HRA’s and E‑HRA’s are communicated through daily coordination meetings and site whiteboards. [HSE Adviso...st - Draft | Word] Audits, Inspections & Reporting Complete daily site walkdowns and safety engagements.
- Carry out weekly site HSE inspections and monthly site HSE audits using approved H&MV templates.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and high‑potential events, completing reports within required timeframes.
- Track and verify close‑out of corrective actions.
- Training, Inductions & Engagement Deliver or support site HSE inductions for all personnel and visitors.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety briefings, and safety stand‑downs as required.
- Encourage workforce engagement through SSD submissions and safety initiatives.
- Documentation & Systems Maintain accurate and controlled HSE records in line with H&MV systems (QAP 10, ACC, MyHub).
- Support use of ACC Submittals for RAMS and HSE documentation control.
- Maintain site registers including RAMS, training, plant, permits, and inspections.
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential Recognised HSE qualification (NEBOSH, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Previous experience as an HSE Advisor on construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of RAMS, permits, and risk assessment processes.
- Experience working in high‑risk construction environments.
- Desirable Experience on HV / electrical or energy infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 management systems.
- Experience working on client‑led or PMC‑controlled projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident in challenging unsafe acts and conditions.
- Proactive, organised, and solutions‑focused.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and contractors.
