Job summary

Aiven is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering to drive reliability and operational excellence of the Aiven platform globally. You will work closely with SRE teams, helping set technical direction and strategy to ensure resilient, scalable systems across our 24/7 operations.

You will lead cross-regional SRE teams, drive tooling and automation to reduce toil, and partner with engineering, product, and support worldwide to influence architecture and investments that improve

Qualifications

Proven experience in senior SRE or infrastructure roles across regions/time zones.
Strong track record defining and executing reliability strategy at scale (SLIs/SLOs, incident management).
Ability to mentor engineers and influence teams without formal authority.
Experience in 24/7/365 production environments and follow-the-sun models.

Responsibilities

Define and drive global SRE operating strategy with regional leaders across EMEA, AMER and APAC.
Provide hands-on technical leadership across multi-regional SRE teams and engineers.
Set vision and roadmap for reliability engineering with tools, automation and processes.
Improve incident management strategy, on-call design, coverage and escalation frameworks.
Establish a metrics-driven cadence with KPIs/SLIs/SLOs/Error Budgets and continuous improvement.
