Job summary

Evondos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our R&D software team. You will help build secure, scalable backend services for our medication management platform, working in an international Scrum team with colleagues in the Netherlands and Finland.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend development experience with Kotlin and/or Python.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
• Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns and engineering best practices.
• Experience with cloud-native development and modern deployment practices (containerised apps).
• Collaborative, hands-on approach to problem solving.
• Fluent English communication skills.

About The Team & The Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Evondos' R&D software team. You'll work in an international Scrum team with colleagues in the Netherlands and Finland, building secure and scalable backend services for our medication management platform. This is a senior, hands-on role where you'll write high-quality code, help shape technical decisions, and contribute to our move towards a modern cloud-native platform.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services primarily using Kotlin and Python.
• Build scalable, secure, and highly available services that support critical healthcare operations.
• Drive improvements in architecture, performance, reliability, and observability across the platform.
• Contribute to the evolution of our service-oriented architecture and Kubernetes-based environments.
• Own the software you build throughout its lifecycle, from development and code review to production monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, QA Engineers, DevOps specialists, and fellow developers, while mentoring colleagues and contributing to technical decisions.

What You'll Bring

Practical Details

Location: the role can be based either in the Netherlands (Zoetermeer) or in Finland (Helsinki area or Salo).

Work model: Hybrid and flexible. In the Netherlands, the team regularly meet together at our Zoetermeer office. In Finland, the software team works primarily remotely, with occasional in-person collaboration at our Helsinki or Salo offices.
