Job summary

Softability is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize low-level code for embedded systems. You will work on meaningful projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Position requires at least 6 years of experience in embedded software development, excellent English skills, and preferably Finnish.

The role supports hybrid work in the Helsinki area, with a salary range of 5500 - 6200 €/month and a comprehensive benefits package.

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer

in a consultant assignment, you’ll design, develop, and optimize low-level code for embedded systems in demanding client projects – one at a time, of course.

You’ll be working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop high-performance, low-level code for industrial and medical devices.

Our clients support hybrid work, so presence at their office around Helsinki Metropolitan area is required (1-3 days per week). In addition, you are always welcome to work from our office in Vantaankoski too.

How to succeed in this position?

With 6+ years of experience in embedded software development and a strong background in industrial device manufacturing R&D, you’ll have a solid foundation for success.

Excellent English communication skills are essential, and Finnish is a bonus.

You should also have:

• Strong programming skills with modern C++ and Python
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and/or Embedded Linux
• Understanding of embedded software architecture and hardware
• Experience with testing (unit testing, automation) and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills

It’s a great plus if you also have experience from any of the following:

• Distributed systems and cybersecurity principles for embedded systems
• C, Yocto and/or IoT systems and tools
• Supportive AI tools
• Agile and Scrum methodologies.
