Job description

Job Description Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior RF Systems Engineer to help create the next generation of wireless medical technologies. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape complex RF systems from early concept and architecture through detailed design, verification, certification, and product release. You will join the Parameters and Wearables Hardware team, working with standard and proprietary radio technologies for patient monitoring applications. This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on RF expert who enjoys building new systems, solving meaningful technical challenges, and seeing their work become reliable products used in healthcare environments.

If you enjoy moving between system architecture, the lab bench, simulations, certification work, and real‑world product challenges, this role offers the chance to make a visible impact in a global healthcare technology environment.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of radio system design from concept creation, architecture definition, and technology selection through implementation, verification, manufacturing support, and product release.
  • Develop and evaluate RF solutions for wireless medical systems, including Bluetooth, MBAN, and Wi‑Fi radio implementations, antennas, RF front ends, and related circuitry.
  • Design RF hardware, including schematics, PCB layouts, antenna integration, simulations, and technical reviews.
  • Plan and execute testing from low‑level RF RX and TX parameters to radio system‑level and wireless performance.
  • Support and drive product‑level radio certification activities, such as FCC and RED, according to program needs and target markets.
  • Work with hardware, software, systems, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and external partners to troubleshoot complex RF topics related to EMC, antenna performance, and wireless connectivity.
  • Contribute to early‑stage technology development and help shape the RF roadmap for future wearable and patient monitoring solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications, or an equivalent engineering field.
  • Strong understanding of radio technology fundamentals from the component level to complete radio systems. The role focuses on the RF and physical layer, but it is also essential to understand the role of the radio link layer and higher‑level system functions.
  • Significant hands‑on experience in radio systems and RF development, preferably including at least one product taken from concept to release.
  • Practical knowledge of RF design tools and workflows, including system, circuit, and EM simulators, as well as schematic and layout editors and measurement tools.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make progress in a collaborative team environment.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain complex RF topics clearly to engineering, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and program stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • We do not expect candidates to be experts in every area listed above. If you have strong expertise in selected RF, radio system, or wireless product development areas and are motivated to keep growing, we would be happy to hear from you.
Desired Characteristics
  • Master’s degree in radio technology or a closely related engineering field.
  • Experience developing RF systems for highly regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, defense, or industrial safety‑critical products.
  • Experience with low‑power wireless systems, wearable devices, miniaturized electronics, or antenna design for space‑constrained products.
  • Knowledge of RF and EMC risk analysis, regulatory certification work, and design documentation under a quality management system.
  • Experience contributing to released products and balancing innovation, reliability, manufacturability, compliance, and schedule commitments.
  • Engineering curiosity and a builder’s mindset, with motivation for practical experimentation, meaningful RF challenges, and turning new ideas into working systems.
  • Experience working with multicultural and globally distributed teams.
