Job summary

RELEX Solutions is seeking a Senior R&D Operations Specialist to own, administer, and evolve the AI developer tools used by 300–400 engineers. You will configure, monitor usage and costs, and establish guardrails to ensure safe, cost-efficient tooling.

You will research configurations, stay ahead of AI tooling changes, and collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver what the organisation needs. This is a fast-paced, globally engaged team.

In response to our ongoing AI transformation, we are looking for a Senior R&D Operations Specialist to be the person who owns, administers, and evolves the AI developer tools that our engineers depend on every day.

What We Need You To Do And Be

• You will take ownership of the AI and developer tools our R&D organisation adopts — administering, configuring, and managing them at scale across 300–400 engineers
• You will monitor tool usage, costs, and anomalies, and put the guardrails in place that keep our AI tooling safe and cost‑efficient
• You will research how our tools can be configured and evolved to give engineers as much freedom as possible within sensible boundaries
• You will stay current on the rapidly‑changing AI tooling landscape and bring well‑reasoned recommendations to the team
• You will work with vendors, internal stakeholders in R&D Operations and Business IT, and the wider engineering community to ensure we are delivering what the organisation needs

• Hands‑on experience owning or administering at least one AI or developer tool at organisational scale — e.g. ChatGPT Enterprise, GitHub Copilot, Claude / Anthropic, Cursor, or similar
• Technical depth: you understand how these tools actually work under the hood, not just as an end user
• A self‑management mindset — you take ownership, drive things forward without being told what to do, and are comfortable being the person with the most domain knowledge on the team
• Ability and willingness to build structure in an ambiguous, fast‑moving environment
• People skills to navigate stakeholders and develop the vendor management side over time
• Comfortable with using AI in your everyday work and developing the use of AI tools as a larger organisational strategy
• Fluent in written and spoken English
