Job summary

Hitachi Energy, Grid Automation in Finland, is seeking a Senior Protection Engineer to strengthen our engineering and testing team in Vaasa or Helsinki. You will work on protection and control concepts for substation automation, lead hardware design, and configure IEDs, while coordinating with project managers and customers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer or systems engineering; required.
Experience in substation control and protection systems; IEC61850 knowledge preferred.
Experience with Hitachi Energy protection and control IED portfolio (Relion PCM600) and E3.series is a plus.
Open-minded team player with customer focus, safety, quality and efficiency; able to coordinate with stakeholders.
Proficient in Finnish and English; capable of working in a global project team.

Responsibilities

Develop protection and control concepts for (sub-)transmission systems with the project core team.
Lead hardware design of bay level cubicles within the substation.
Configure Protection and Control IEDs per customer specifications.
Lead Factory Acceptance Test and oversee factory testing in Vaasa.
Perform control and protection site tests at customer sites.
Lead a small team of engineers across global centers.
