Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Finland is seeking a Senior Protection Engineer to strengthen our substation automation team in Vaasa or Helsinki. You will lead the protection and control scope of global projects, coordinating a small engineering team and collaborating with a wide network of experts.

You will work with IEC61850, Relion PCM600, E3.series, and drive hardware design and factory testing. This role demands strong teamwork, customer focus, and the ability to deliver on time and with high quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer or systems engineering or related field.
• Experience with substation protection systems and IEC61850.
• Familiarity with Relion PCM600 and E3.series is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection and control scope of substation automation projects.
• Configure protection IEDs and hardware design for bay level cubicles.
• Oversee factory testing and lead FAT with customers.
• Coordinate with global project teams and stakeholders.
