Job summary

Jobtailor in Vaasa, Finland seeks an experienced engineer to develop protection and control concepts for transmission systems and to lead hardware design of bay-level cubicles in substations. You will configure IEDs per customer specifications, perform factory testing in the Vaasa area, and lead FAT with customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer or systems engineering.
• Experience in substation control and protection systems and IEC61850.
• Experience with Hitachi Energy Relion/PCM600 and/or E3.series is a big plus.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with different stakeholders within the project team.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Structured and proactive engineering approach, with high commitment to maintaining project budget and project plan.
• Spoken and written proficiency in Finnish and English.
• Successful completion of applicable pre-employment background checks and, for certain roles, additional security screenings.

Responsibilities

• Develop protection and control concepts for (sub-)transmission systems with the project core team and customer.
• Lead hardware design of bay-level cubicles within substations.
• Configure Protection and Control IEDs for (sub-)transmission substations according to customer specifications.
• Conduct factory testing in the Vaasa test area and lead the Factory Acceptance Test with the customer.
• Lead control and protection site testing at customer sites.
• Technically lead a small team of engineers based in global engineering centers.
• Collaborate with the project manager, SCADA engineer, customer, and project stakeholders to deliver projects on time and to quality standards.
