Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking a Senior Project Manager (MEP) for a data centre project in Lohja, Finland. You will lead MEP delivery across all systems, ensuring design, safety, schedule and budget adherence from concept to handover.

Fluent English is essential; Finnish is highly valued. The role is freelance for 12 months with on-site work in Lohja, starting ASAP, 8–10 hours daily, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• 15+ years delivering data centre projects from concept through handover.
• Senior Project Manager or MEP Manager on hyperscale or large colocation data centres.
• Client-side or developer experience, including managing a PMC and consultants, preferred.
• Strong technical background in electrical and/or mechanical systems for mission-critical facilities.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and NFPA codes.

Responsibilities

• Represent the client on MEP delivery, holding the PMC, designers and contractors to account.
• Lead MEP delivery across HV/MV/LV power, UPS, generators, cooling, BMS/EPMS and fire protection.
• Review MEP design at concept through IFC to as-built against Employer's Requirements and international codes.
• Direct the PMC, MEP contractors and suppliers to keep works safe, on programme, on budget and to quality.
• Coordinate MEP with grid connection and HV substation works.
• Drive value engineering, constructability and long-lead procurement without compromising redundancy.
• Oversee testing and commissioning through to handover and operational readiness.
• Own MEP programme, cost, risk and change reporting to senior stakeholders.

• Represent the client on MEP delivery, sitting above the PMC and holding them, the designers and contractors to account
• Lead MEP delivery across HV/MV/LV power, UPS, generators, cooling, BMS/EPMS and fire protection
• Review MEP design at every stage, from concept through IFC to as-built, against the Employer's Requirements and international codes (IEC, IEEE, NFPA)
• Direct the PMC, MEP contractors and suppliers to keep the works safe, on programme, on budget and to quality
• Coordinate the MEP package with the grid connection and HV substation works
• Drive value engineering, constructability and long-lead procurement without compromising redundancy and reliability
• Oversee testing and commissioning (L1–L5) through to handover and operational readiness
• Own MEP programme, cost, risk and change reporting to senior stakeholders and executive leadership

Requirements:

• 15+ years' experience, with a strong, proven track record delivering data centre projects from concept through to handover (must have)
• Senior Project Manager or MEP Manager experience on hyperscale or large colocation data centres
• Client-side or developer experience, including managing a PMC and consultants, strongly preferred
• Strong technical background in electrical and/or mechanical systems for mission-critical facilities
• Good knowledge of international codes and standards, including IEC, IEEE and NFPA
• Proven track record leading integrated commissioning and handover
• Electrical or mechanical engineering degree preferred
• Fluent English essential; Finnish highly valued
• Proven leader with strong stakeholder management and good IT skills
