Job summary

UPM, a global materials company, seeks a Senior Process Expert to join the Fixed Assets and Leases team within Finance & Control. The role is based in Tampere, Finland and Wrocław, Poland, offering a hybrid work model with on-site collaboration.

You will perform complex Fixed Assets accounting, ensure IFRS/Finnish GAAP compliance, and support tax reporting for Finnish entities. Collaboration with Tax, IT, and external stakeholders is essential, with opportunities to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Solid experience in fixed assets accounting; lease accounting is an advantage.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and Finnish GAAP understanding for fixed assets reporting.
  • Knowledge of Finnish tax regulations related to fixed assets.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP (FCC and S/4).
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Fluent in English and Finnish.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate complex Fixed Assets accounting and reporting activities.
  • Ensure IFRS and Finnish GAAP compliance and related reporting.
  • Support month-, quarter-, and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations, analyses, and reporting for Fixed Assets and Leases.
  • Participate in system enhancements, process improvements and automation.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Tax, IT, and external stakeholders.
  • Support audits and provide accounting expertise across teams.
  • Contribute to process standardization, documentation and knowledge sharing.
