Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation invites applications for a Senior Development Engineer, Power Systems, to advance modelling and simulation work in power systems and ensure regulatory compliance for Wärtsilä’s engine power plants.

The role will report to the General Manager, Power Systems. Preferred location is Vaasa, Finland, with Helsinki or Turku also considered. Strong English communication and collaboration within cross-functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Power Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience with grid code requirements and power system modelling.
• Strong analytical skills and teamwork ability.
• Experience with Python and AI in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assess power plant performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop power system models and run simulations with PowerFactory and PSCAD.
• Collaborate on development activities, measurement campaigns, and project support.
• Improve processes using Python automation and AI.
