Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer, Power Systems to bring expertise in power systems, modelling and simulations and grid code requirements. Preferred location is Vaasa, Finland, but Helsinki or Turku may be considered.

You will assess grid code requirements and develop models, running simulations with PowerFactory and PSCAD, collaborating across teams to support development and sales activities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Power Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with grid code requirements, power system modelling and simulations.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Assess power plant performance, interpret global grid code requirements, and analyse test results to ensure regulatory compliance and expected performance.
• Develop power system models for Wärtsilä’s engine power plant solutions and perform simulations with PowerFactory and PSCAD.
• Collaborate with the team in development activities, measurement campaigns or technical project and sales support cases.
• Develop and improve ways of working by applying Python automation and AI in engineering workflows.
