Job summary

Wärtsilä Energy is seeking a Senior Development Engineer, Power Systems to bring expertise in power systems, modelling and grid code requirements. The preferred location is Vaasa, Finland, with Helsinki or Turku as alternative sites.

You will develop power system models and run simulations using PowerFactory and PSCAD to ensure regulatory compliance and performance. You will collaborate across teams, apply Python automation and AI to engineering workflows, and translate complex topics for

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Power Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with grid code requirements, power system modelling and simulations.
• Analytical mindset with ability to colaborar and explain complex topics clearly.
• Experience using Python or similar tools and practical AI in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assess power plant performance, interpret grid code requirements and analyse test results for regulatory compliance and performance.
• Develop power system models and perform simulations using PowerFactory and PSCAD.
• Collaborate with the team on development activities, measurement campaigns or project and sales support.
• Develop and improve workflows using Python automation and AI.
