Job summary

ABB Drive Products in Helsinki is seeking an experienced power electronics engineer to contribute to product modifications and solution development. You will be the first R&D contact for specific cases, proposing innovative approaches and documenting results.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Sales, Product Management and Production, and requires daily onsite presence in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. Requirements include 5+ years in power electronics, a practical, hands-on mindset, and strong

Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience in power electronics or electrical design.
Practical mindset with ability to translate ideas into prototypes and sellable products.
Ability to work with sales and customers.
Experience defining and building measurement test setups and documenting conclusions.
Motivation to adopt new working methods including automation and AI.
Bachelor or Master level degree in electronics or power electronics.
Proficiency in English; Finnish language is a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain solid knowledge of power electronics by integrating latest developments.
Act as first point of contact in R&D for product-related modification cases.
Suggest and implement innovative solutions for customer-specific requirements.
Collaborate with Sales, Product Management and Production to drive Drive Products division success.
Work onsite daily in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki as part of the Industrial Drives design team.
