Job summary
We are seeking a Senior Optical Engineer to design the optics behind our defence and automotive products, based at our Helsinki HQ. You will work on optical architecture from concept to parts, collaborating with hardware, R&D and project management.
Your work includes simulation, lab work and collaboration with manufacturing partners. You will tackle stray light, chromatic aberrations, and optimization for displays and sensors, balancing FOV, eyebox, eye relief and optical efficiency.
Qualifications
- Senior-level industry experience in optics.
- Experience with Zemax OpticStudio, Code V, Speos or LightTools for design and stray light analysis.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and coating of optics.
- Experience with tolerance and yield analysis.
- Ability to build test setups in the lab.
- Master's or PhD in optical engineering, physics or electrical engineering; imaging/illumination focus is a plus.
- Willing to work onsite at Helsinki HQ with strong English.
Responsibilities
- Design optical architectures for products.
- Simulate and reduce stray light and artifacts using established tools.
- Balance wide FOV, eyebox, eye relief and optical efficiency.
- Coordinate with displays (MicroOLED/ MicroLED) and sensors for integration.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners to enable volume production.
- Build and maintain lab setups for optical validation.
