Job summary

Academic Work Finland Oy is seeking a mechanical design lead for innovative electronic devices and optical sensor systems. You will drive end-to-end design from concept to mass production with cross-functional teams in a compact, fast-moving environment.

You will own the mechanical design department, work with precision plastics, optics, LEDs, and thermal management, and shape engineering processes while delivering robust, manufacturable products.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of injection-m molded plastic design for small, complex products.
• Good understanding of fluid dynamics (CFD) and airflow simulation.
• Ability to self-coordinate and take full ownership of projects.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end mechanical engineering from initial concept design to final production support.
• Designing small, highly complex injection-molded plastic components.
• Integrating optics, sensors, and LEDs into compact device frames.
• Utilizing airflow and thermal management simulations to optimize product performance and reliability.
• Taking full ownership of the mechanical design department and self-coordinating daily work.
