Nextfour Group Oy – a Turku-based product development partner – is seeking a Mechanical Designer. You will develop new ideas in 3D CAD, design subsystems and assemblies, and ensure functionality of parts in the final device.
Collaboration with electronics, optics, and software teams is essential, with hands-on prototyping and testing across diverse environments. You will work in a growing, innovative company, applying SolidWorks and Fusion for modeling, and contributing to projects from ideation
Nextfour is a full-service product development partner with the capability to create products from idea to finished product. In addition to mechanical design we offer software, electronics, RF and production optimization. We typically produce prototypes and small batches in-house. Our organization has around 45 people and is located in Turku.
Every day you will get to develop something new, drawing on the experience of yourself and your future colleagues. The design is done in 3D programs and the first ideas can be produced immediately with 3D printing, CNC machining or hand tools. You choose the most suitable way to make your idea a physical part. You design subsystems and larger assemblies and are responsible for the functionality of the parts in the final device. The products we design fit their environment, which can range from clean rooms to dusty and wet environments. You will collaborate with colleagues from electronics, optics, software and other fields directly with customers. You will probably get to explore boating and, if needed, test the devices you designed in the Turku archipelago.
Nextfour has ambitious international growth goals and you will join an innovative crowd where tasks are interesting and challenging but done together with the team. The mechanical team often handles conceptualization and implementation independently while maintaining ongoing dialogue with customers during product design. We offer a career opportunity in our growing company with challenging projects. Tasks vary in ideation, design and completion of both our own and our customers’ products. We produce various prototypes supported by excellent tools including six 3D printers and environmental test chambers in our in-house protopaj. In our RF/EMC test chambers we can test performance of new concepts during development. Our primary tools for modeling and simulations include SolidWorks and Fusion. Material selection is broad and chosen per purpose.
