Are you interested in a more sustainable future and designing functional mechanical solutions? Polar Night Energy, an energy tech company based in Tampere, Finland, is now looking for a Mechanical Designer to join its expanding team!
With the new technology developed by Polar Night Energy, energy can be stored in sand as thermal energy. The technology is already in commercial use in Pornainen and Kankaanpää, Finland and the next Sand Battery is under construction in Vääksy, Finland.
As a Mechanical Designer, you will join the product team responsible for designing and developing Polar Night Energy’s thermal energy storage products in close collaboration with sales, project, and R&D teams. Your work will be divided between designing for sales and delivery projects as well as continuous product development.
Your primary daily tool will be SolidWorks, and in this role you will participate in projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from sales-phase design to implementation. You will collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
In a growing company, your role will be varied and dynamic, and your responsibilities may evolve based on your interests and the company’s needs. However, your primary objective is to ensure that the designed solutions are technically sound, high-quality, and meet project requirements.
We are looking for a Mechanical Designer who already has relevant experience in industrial design work and the ability to take ownership of tasks independently. You will succeed in this role if you can grasp complex systems, enjoy the dynamic nature of a growth company, and are motivated to develop solutions collaboratively with the team.
We particularly value experience in power plant environments or similar industrial settings involving large equipment, steel structures, or process systems. We also hope you are motivated to learn new things and want to contribute to building technology that advances a more sustainable future.
We are committed to ensuring equal participation in the recruitment process and will accommodate individual accessibility needs where necessary.
