Job summary

Supercell Oy is seeking an experienced Server Engineer to join the Brawl Stars team in Helsinki. You will design, implement, deploy, and maintain highly scalable backends for live games, collaborating with client programmers and other teammates on feature development and game design discussions.

You will help set reliability standards and participate in round-the-clock on-call support for production environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in server-side Java, including concurrency and distributed systems.
• Strong Linux shell and scripting skills.
• Database design and SQL knowledge.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Tencent Cloud) and IaC (Terraform).
• Familiarity with networking, security, and cloud-security practices.
• Proven ability to design and implement high-performance, scalable distributed systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of highly scalable backends for live games.
• Collaborate with client programmers and team members to develop new game features.
• Contribute to reliability and on-call incident response for production environments.
• Troubleshoot and optimize high-volume sharded databases.
