Job summary

Nordea in Helsinki seeks a Senior IT Developer to solve varied engineering challenges across applications, data, platforms, and automation. You will modernize data warehousing, design scalable solutions, and drive end-to-end automation in a hands-on role.

You will work with Python, SQL, cloud services, and CI/CD, collaborating across teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems. The role supports a hybrid working model in Finland and offers opportunities to mentor colleagues and shape engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming and problem-solving skills with Python and SQL.
• Experience building and operating production solutions in cloud or enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Ability to move between application code, data, infrastructure, and operational concerns.
• Willingness to embrace AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Solve varied engineering problems across services, data flows, platforms, and operational tooling.
• Design and build maintainable solutions using Python, SQL, APIs, cloud services, and the right tools.
• Improve data warehousing and automation across the delivery lifecycle.
• Contribute to CI/CD improvements, monitoring, and observability.
• Mentor junior colleagues and participate in code reviews.
