Basemark is seeking an embedded hardware engineer to own the hardware lifecycle for a single-board computer—from concept to prototype to production—based in our Helsinki office. You will select components, perform schematic capture, manage PDN design, thermal solutions, and high-speed PCB routing for AR/smart helmet use cases.
Work alongside software engineers, iterate rapidly, and bring ideas to life through fast prototyping.

Defense
Based on the client's requirement you and our SW engineers will analyze how desired results could be achieved with a given SOM. You will drive the full hardware lifecycle for a single board computer, including component selection, schematic capture and circuit design, covering power delivery network (PDN) design, thermal management, and high-speed PCB routing (SI/PI).
You will iterate rapidly and you don’t need to be too concerned about getting it perfect before testing, we want rapid prototyping and we can improve it step by step, as you go. The board you are developing is essentially a pocket-sized computer from concept to a finished product, for Augmented reality/smart glass use cases, for example in a state-of-the-art Smart Helmet. You will own the design and architecture of the device from the ground up, and you can bring your ideas to life quickly via fast prototyping. You will work closely with a very talented team of software engineers, who will have your back!
