Job summary
Valmet is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Global Tissue Services automation engineering team. You will work on automation systems for tissue machine modernization projects across a global, collaborative environment, focusing on Valmet DNA tools and related PLC/DCS software.
Responsibilities include software design, testing, commissioning, and startup activities, with opportunities to expand expertise to Siemens PLCs and Pilz safety controllers.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in automation engineering or equivalent experience.
- More than five years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience with PLC/DCS systems (e.g. Valmet DNA, Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Industry knowledge; CAD/EPLAN experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automation system software (PLC/DCS) and produce the related documentation.
- Timely completing engineering activities with respect to delivery time, hourly budget and the target cost.
- Support mechanical and process engineering teams in solution selection.
- Support the sales team by providing expertise and answers to software engineering-related questions.
- Support procurement in evaluating suppliers and brands as needed.
- Participate in FAT and start-ups, commissioning, testing and start-up of equipment.
