Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Senior Targeting Analyst to own tasking systems for Wildfire, Earthquake, and Persistent Monitoring. You will analyze satellite capacity, geometry, and scheduling trade-offs to enable scalable, defensible decisions and automation-ready frameworks.

You’ll act as the on-shift expert when issues arise, collaborating with meteorology, operations, and product teams while advancing new product concepts. ICEYE values ownership and cross-team collaboration.

• Contribute to tasking methodology for Wildfire, Earthquake, and Persistent Monitoring Change Detection, helping build scalable systems
• Conduct AOI fitness and tasking scenario analysis, assessing suitability and constellation capacity
• Serve as the expert on tasking and monitoring methods with Solutions Product teams
• Support post-event evaluation for non-meteorological events reaching trigger thresholds and identify root causes with RCA
• Contribute to methodology development for Peril monitoring and R&D on new products using ICEYE tooling

As a Senior Targeting Analyst, you'll own the tasking systems and methodologies behind Wildfire, Earthquake, and Persistent Monitoring change detection. You'll work through satellite capacity, geometry, and scheduling trade-offs to make scalable, defensible decisions. You'll be the on-shift point of expertise when things go wrong, and you’ll help build the frameworks that move these perils toward automation, and shape how ICEYE monitors change across the planet as new products and methods take form.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

• Contribute to tasking methodology for Wildfire, Earthquake, and Persistent Monitoring Change Detection, helping build the systems that keep it scalable

• Conduct AOI fitness and tasking scenario analysis, assessing suitability, constellation capacity, and optimal modes and geometry for Product requirements

• Serve as the expert on tasking and monitoring methods, working with Solutions Product teams with input on concepts and programmatic approaches

• Support post-event evaluation for non-meteorological events that reach trigger threshold, using RCA to identify root causes and partnering with meteorology, operations, and product teams on fixes

• Contribute in a hands-on way to methodology development for Peril monitoring and tracking, including R&D on new products as requested using ICEYE’s available tooling.

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

• Demonstrated technical proficiency in QGIS (including geospatial analysis), Python, and data analysis

• Experience interpreting and aggregating data to develop trigger points, such as activation thresholds from historical events

• Comfortable optimising a dynamic, fast-changing situation and managing tasks independently

• Strong systems thinking, with experience developing methodologies that support a transition to automation

• Strong operational communication skills

• Experience identifying and escalating process gaps or inefficiencies

Nice to haves:

• Demonstrated operational experience

• Experience with remote sensing or SAR imagery

• Familiarity with SAR concepts and terminology
