Job summary

Wärtsilä in Vaasa, Finland, seeks a Senior Documentation Engineer to strengthen the Plant Development Team. You will lead document management, build structured documentation environments, and continuously improve documentation processes with a focus on M-Files.

Ideal candidates have a BSc/MSc in engineering, excellent English and Finnish, and a proactive, organized approach. The role offers growth in a global energy/marine technology company and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Implement and execute project document management routines in product development.
• Develop documentation environments for structured documentation.
• Ensure proper handling of project documents in the DMS.
• Provide support for document management tools and structured authoring environments.
• Contribute to improving ways of working within the area.
• Offer feedback on documentation routines and lessons learned.
• Participate in developing issues within own responsibility area.

We are seeking a Senior Documentation Engineer to strengthen our Plant Development Team by leading effective document management, developing structured documentation environments and continuously improving documentation processes and systems, with particular expertise in M-Files.

Your role and responsibilities

• Implement and execute project document management routines and best practices in product development and project support.
• Develop documentation environments for structured documentation.
• Ensuring proper handling of the project documents in document management system.
• Support internal users of document management, document collaboration tools, and structured authoring environment.
• To participate in developing and improving the way of working within his/her organisational area.
• To give and collect feedback regarding product documentation routines.
• Provide lessons learned initiatives for developing issues in own responsibility area.

Requirements

As an ideal candidate, you have the passion to contribute for technical solutions of sustainable fuels and products. You have energy to overcome obstacles and find out alternative ways.

The Ideal Candidate Would Also Have Experience In

• Documentation management / document control work and best practices.
• Defining and implementing document management processes.
• Document management systems & user permission management particularly M-Files.
• Providing support & guidance related to document management processes and tools.

The following skills, attitudes and background are beneficial:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in relevant field of engineering or equal.
• Excellent command of English & Finnish, both oral and written.
• Motivation and genuine interest to work with technical documentation.
• A proactive, systematic, and organized way of working.
• Good skills in communication and self-management.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of team.
• Good presentation and communication skills.
