Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking a Senior Documentation Engineer to strengthen the Plant Development Team. You will lead documentation management, develop structured environments, and continuously improve documentation processes with a focus on M-Files.

The role requires collaboration across teams and strong attention to detail. Ideal candidates have a background in engineering documentation, fluency in English and Finnish, and proven experience in document control and process definition.

Qualifications

  • Support for document management tools and user permissions, esp. M-Files.
  • Guidance on process improvements related to technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute project document management routines in product development.
  • Develop environments for structured documentation.
  • Ensure proper handling of project documents in the DMS.
  • Support internal users of document management and collaboration tools.
  • Contribute to improving working methods within the area.
  • Offer feedback and lessons learned for documentation processes.

We are seeking a Senior Documentation Engineer to strengthen our Plant Development Team by leading effective document management, developing structured documentation environments and continuously improving documentation processes and systems, with particular expertise in M-Files.

Your role and responsibilities
  • Implement and execute project document management routines and best practices in product development and project support.
  • Develop documentation environments for structured documentation
  • Ensuring proper handling of the project documents in document management system.
  • Support internal users of document management, document collaboration tools, and structured authoring environment.
  • To participate in developing and improving the way of working within his/her organiser area.
  • To give and collect feedback regarding product documentation routines.
  • Provide lessons learned initiatives for developing issues in own responsibility area
Requirements

As an ideal candidate, you have the passion to contribute for technical solutions of sustainable fuels and products. You have energy to overcome obstacles and find out alternative ways.

The ideal candidate would also have experience in
  • Documentation management / document control work and best practices
  • Defining and implementing document management processes
  • Document management systems & user permission management particularly M-Files
  • Providing support & guidance related to document management processes and tools
The following skills, attitudes and background are beneficial:
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in relevant field of engineering or equal.
  • Excellent command of English & Finnish, both oral and written.
  • Motivation and genuine interest to work with technical documentation.
  • A proactive, systematic, and organized way of working.
  • Good skills in communication and self-management.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of team
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Proactive attitude and positive Can-Do mind-set
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Quality compliance knowledge
  • Familiar with technical engineering documentation
Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in relevant field of engineering or equal
