Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to support Nordic solar, wind and storage projects. You will act as the primary contact for commercial and contractual matters across Sweden and Finland, guiding project teams through pre‑construction to warranty.

Responsibilities include reviewing agreements, managing notices and variations, leading claims negotiations, and embedding AI‑enabled contract management tools across the function.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in contract or commercial management on major CAPEX‑intensive projects.
• Experience in renewable energy, energy, infrastructure or another complex construction environment.
• Strong experience with claims, variations and dispute resolution.
• Excellent negotiation skills protecting commercial interests while maintaining relationships.
• Experience with complex contracts, ideally including FIDIC forms.
• Strong stakeholder management across cultures and seniority levels.
• Pragmatic, commercially minded approach with proactive issue identification.
• Interest in using AI to improve contract and commercial management.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day commercial and contractual support to Construction Project Managers.
• Review construction and supply agreements ahead of handover, identifying key risks and time bars.
• Establish and maintain contract administration processes: notices, variations, claims, correspondence.
• Lead negotiations regarding claims, variations and disputes.
• Develop commercial strategies to maximise entitlement and minimise exposure.
• Collaborate with internal Legal teams and external counsel as needed.
• Provide early visibility of significant commercial risks to senior leadership.
• Support project close‑out, final accounts and warranty claims.
• Capture lessons learned for future procurement and project execution.
• Coach Project Managers in contract awareness and risk identification.
• Assist in introducing AI‑enabled contract management tools.

Focus: Onshore Wind, Solar PV & Battery Energy Storage

I’m currently working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contract Manager to join a leading renewable energy business and play a key role across a portfolio of major construction projects in the Nordic region.

This is a hands‑on, commercially focused role where you’ll work closely with Construction Project Managers and senior leadership, providing contractual and commercial guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from pre‑construction through to completion and warranty.

The Role

You’ll act as the first point of contact for commercial and contractual matters across construction projects in Sweden and Finland, working closely with project teams, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing day‑to‑day commercial and contractual support to Construction Project Managers.


• Reviewing construction and supply agreements ahead of project handover, identifying key contractual risks, notice requirements and time bars.


• Establishing and maintaining effective contract administration processes, including notices, variations, claims and correspondence.


• Leading and supporting negotiations relating to claims, variations and commercial disputes.


• Developing commercial strategies to maximise entitlement and minimise project exposure.


• Working closely with internal Legal teams and managing external legal counsel where required.


• Providing early visibility of significant commercial risks, claims and disputes to senior leadership.


• Supporting project close‑out, final accounts and warranty claims.


• Capturing lessons learned and feeding these into future procurement, contracting and project execution.


• Coaching and developing Project Managers in contract awareness, commercial risk and early issue identification.


• Helping to introduce and embed AI‑enabled contract management tools across the construction function.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with:

• 5+ years' experience in contract or commercial management on major CAPEX‑intensive projects.


• Experience within renewable energy, energy, infrastructure or another complex construction environment.


• Strong experience with claims, variations and dispute resolution.


• Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to protect commercial interests while maintaining strong long‑term relationships.


• Experience working with complex construction contracts, ideally including FIDIC or similar forms.


• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across different cultures and levels of seniority.


• A pragmatic, commercially minded approach and the confidence to challenge when required.


• An interest in using technology and AI to improve contract and commercial management.


• Strong MS Office skills; experience with MS Project would be advantageous.
