Job summary

Verto People, Ltd. is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support the delivery of hyperscale data centres across Europe.

This is a senior, site-based role for a commercially strong professional in a fast-paced project environment. As Commercial Manager, you will own the commercial function on the project, manage budgets, variations and contracts, and provide governance and reporting to clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial management or similar senior role.
• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or Engineering.
• Strong contract and commercial management experience on large-scale projects.
• Experience managing variations, claims, subcontractors and cost control.
• Solid understanding of forecasting, reporting and commercial risk.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a site-based environment.
• Experience on major industrial, engineering or construction projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Leading all commercial and contractual activities on the project
• Managing project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and cost reporting
• Monitoring project performance and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
• Managing variations, change orders, claims and contract negotiations
• Overseeing subcontractor and supplier commercial management
• Reviewing contracts and ensuring contractual obligations are understood and maintained
• Supporting the Project Manager and senior leadership with commercial decision-making
• Preparing accurate monthly commercial reports and forecasts
• Managing final accounts and supporting successful project close-out
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key project stakeholders
