Job summary

AlphaSense is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Core Cloud Platform to own the architectural roadmap for our cloud, Kubernetes, and storage surface as the company scales. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, own cloud configurations and Helm charts, and drive automated provisioning of new cells to accelerate deployment.

You should bring deep Kubernetes expertise, experience at scale with production SaaS on cloud, and proficiency in Python and Go.

Qualifications

• Extremely experienced with Kubernetes and AWS cloud.
• Proven track record running Kubernetes and cloud-based production SaaS systems at scale.
• Experience operating Kubernetes across hundreds of clusters.
• Strong knowledge of data storages (SQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Elasticsearch).
• Strong operational and troubleshooting skills with Kubernetes, databases, and messaging systems.
• Deep understanding of networking and production usage of service meshes and gateways.
• Experience separating infrastructure configuration from application code at scale.
• Experience with cell-based, multi-tenant, or multi-region architectures.
• Proficiency in Python and Golang.
• Advocates high-performance CI/CD practices supporting agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the architectural roadmap for our cloud, Kubernetes, and storage platform.
• Own cloud-side configuration and the Helm chart layer for Cloud Core.
• Build the cell registry and automate provisioning to shorten setup times.
• Design the cross-cell gate mechanism as a reusable standard checkpoint.
• Own, operate and evolve our Cloud and Kubernetes platform and data storage layers.
• Make operations routines for upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management across clusters.
• Continuously improve security, reliability, cost efficiency and performance.
• Champion standards and promote uniformisation to reduce duplication.
• Enable self-service and agentic workflow patterns across the team.
• Build tooling and AI-powered integrations to reduce cognitive load in cloud.
