Job summary

Zevoy is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to own the systems that move real money for thousands of European businesses. You’ll design, build, and harden services beneath the UI, focusing on business-domain decisions and architectural tradeoffs.

Based in Helsinki, this on-site role requires 5+ years in backend engineering, strong Go/SQL skills, and deep financial-system integrations. You'll work with a modern AWS stack to enable new markets across Europe.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong Go or comparable statically-typed language and SQL fundamentals.
• Experience owning production systems end-to-end (design, deployment, incident response).
• Experience integrating with third-party financial systems.
• Comfort with serverless cloud-native infrastructure (AWS).

Responsibilities

• End-to-End System Ownership: Drive backend features from architecture design through deployment and production monitoring.
• Deep Integration Ownership: Develop, maintain, and scale core accounting and banking integrations—from REST/OAuth2 to legacy data flows.
• New Market Entry: Lead the technical work of building integrations for each new market in Europe.
• Pragmatic Problem Solving: Slice complex projects into high-value increments with business owners.
• Balance Velocity with System Health: maintain standards, reduce debt, and sharpen observability.
