Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Wamo Enterprise is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant based in Helsinki to own the Finnish entity's accounting cycle from books to consolidation. You will report to the CFO and work within a high-volume operation spanning multiple entities, ensuring accurate month- and year-end closes.
You will manage statutory reporting under Finnish GAAP, VAT filings, and coordinate with external auditors, while driving process improvements and maintaining compliance as volumes scale.
Finland is becoming our primary operating entity. High volumes. A direct line to the CFO. We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Accountant who wants to own the whole accounting cycle.
If you like doing the work yourself rather than managing it from a distance, and you want to build something as it grows, this is for you.
You will own accounting & reporting for our Finnish entity end to end. You will be based in Helsinki and report directly to our CFO.
We are a finance team with a big operation: hundreds of thousands of transactions every month, and four entities closed together.
Your core focus: owning the accounting cycle
Own bookkeeping, postings and reconciliations for the Finnish entity in Netvisor
Lead the month‑end and year‑end close hands‑on
Keep a meticulous eye on detail as volumes grow
Statutory reporting and consolidation
Prepare statutory financial statements under Finnish GAAP (FAS)
Prepare reporting after the close and help the CFO understand the numbers
Tax and compliance
Prepare and submit VAT returns, local tax filings and statutory reports
Own the corporate income tax process, working with our external tax provider
Make sure everything stays compliant with Finnish tax rules and standards
Audit and external coordination
Coordinate with external accountants and auditors while keeping full ownership of the results in‑house
Be the main point of contact for audit queries on the Finnish entity
Keep documentation and schedules audit‑ready
Process improvement
Identify potential improvements in our workflows to strengthen controls and efficiency as we grow
Must‑haves
6+ years of hands‑on, in‑house accounting in a complex, high‑volume environment. You have personally owned the full accounting cycle
Industry background: you have worked in a business with a large daily flow of transactions, such as fintech, tech, retail, manufacturing or import‑export
Finnish compliance: strong knowledge of Finnish GAAP (FAS), local tax rules and VAT, and experience with Finnish statutory reporting
Accounting and reporting: you know accounting inside out, and you understand reporting and what the numbers mean for the business
Systems: Netvisor, in your current or a previous role, and comfort with manual cross‑checking and reconciliations. Xero, SAP or similar are also relevant.
Fluent Finnish and English
Also important
Ownership and flexibility: you are happy to be "in the weeds" in an environment where structure is still being built
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Strongly preferred
Multi‑entity closing experience
Exposure to FP&A or financial controlling
Audit experience
Consolidation experience
Fintech experience
Real ownership: the accounting of our primary operating entity, end to end
Direct line to the CFO: you work closely with the CFO and see how decisions are made
The full picture: from daily transactions to consolidation and statutory reporting, in a regulated fintech
A say in how we work: help design the processes and controls we scale with
Growth with the company: future progression is shaped by wamo's growth
Indefinite contract
Private health insurance
Hybrid working: four days in the office, one day from home
Lunch benefit (lounasetu): a lunch card you can use at restaurants across Finland
An international team of nearly 100 people from more than 10 countries
Life beyond work: regular team events and a friendly, supportive atmosphere
Modern tools, including AI, built into the way we work every day
