The Särkijärvi School in Askola seeks a part-time school assistant to provide daily guidance and care for children, supervise snack breaks, support homework, and cooperate with parents and staff. The role emphasizes independence and responsible behavior in a small rural setting with about 40 students, mainly 1st and 2nd graders.
The position requires experience with children and youth, strong cooperation and communication skills, and a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002.
In addition to being responsible for after-school activities, the duties of the school assistant include the daily guidance and care of children, supervision of snack breaks, assisting with homework as needed, and cooperating with parents and school staff. The role also includes guiding students during lessons.
Särkijärvi School operates in an idyllic rural environment. There are approximately 40 students in the whole school, and the after-school activities primarily serve 1st and 2nd grade students.

The position is part-time with working hours of 28 hours/week. The position-specific salary is determined according to KVTES.
The person selected for the position must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 3 of the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
The position is subject to a four (4) month probationary period.
The position can be filled immediately upon finding a suitable candidate, even while the application process is ongoing.
