Job summary

Ahola Group in Kokkola is seeking a Route Planner to manage drivers’ transport tasks in the assigned area. You will coordinate load orders, follow up transports, and communicate with drivers via phone, email, and web portals.

The role combines independent decision-making with teamwork to meet customer needs and improve efficiency and sustainability. The position is permanent and salary follows the Collective Agreement; salary, competence, and experience are considered when setting pay.

• Ability to work independently and make decisions as situations change.
• Willingness to work closely with drivers, planners and Customer Service.
• Clear communication, even when busy.
• Calm, solution-focused approach when plans change.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support drivers during trips.
• Pass on customer instructions and changes along the way.
• Keep drivers up to date on ferry connections and schedules.
• Follow up during the day to ensure trucks run per plan and meet customer requirements.
• Spot deviations early and solve them with planning and customer.
• Look for ways to optimize trips and use capacity efficiently.
• Keep ERP information up to date for planners to rely on.
