Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Q-GEN project, which investigates quantum and quantum-inspired methods for genomic data analysis in animal and plant breeding. The position is based in Luke’s Genomics and Breeding group, with close collaboration with quantum physicists at Aalto University.
You will work with simulated and real quantum computing environments and be supervised by Research Professor Ismo Strandén and Dr Matti
The postdoctoral researcher will join Q-GEN (Quantum Computing Applications for Future Genomes and Biomaterials), a Business Finland-funded project exploring quantum and quantum-inspired approaches for genomic data analysis. As rapidly growing genomic datasets challenge conventional computational methods, the project develops and tests new solutions for genomic selection in animal and plant breeding.
The position is based in the Genomics and Breeding group at the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke). The researcher will work closely with quantum physicists at Aalto University and use both simulated and real quantum-computing environments. The postdoctoral researcher will be supervised by Research Professor Ismo Strandén and Dr Matti Taskinen at Luke and collaborate with Professor Ilkka Tittonen’s group at Aalto University. The position is located at Luke’s Jokioinen or Helsinki office and includes opportunities for research visits with international collaborators.
