Job summary

KONE is seeking an experienced finance professional to support its operations across Romania and Bulgaria. This role focuses on high-quality financial reporting under IFRS, compliance with local GAAP and tax regulations, and providing accurate information to drive business decisions.

Responsibilities include closing monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounts, coordinating audits, and partnering with shared service teams to ensure internal controls and timely reporting across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Chief Accountant or Financial Controller.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Experience overseeing accounting activities across multiple legal entities or countries.
• Big 4 audit experience is an asset.

Job description

KONE is seeking an experienced finance professional to support its operations across Romania and Bulgaria . This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality legal entity financial reporting, compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and delivering accurate financial information to support effective business decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely financial and statutory reporting for Romania and Bulgaria.
• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, tax regulations, and internal accounting policies.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity and ensure accounting accuracy.
• Coordinate external audits and act as the main contact for auditors and authorities.
• Work closely with shared service teams and external accounting providers.
• Support treasury activities, liquidity monitoring, and payment approvals.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and local statutory requirements.
• Provide accounting guidance on financial transactions and reporting matters.
• Support process improvements and financial integration activities when required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or Financial Controller - Big 4 audit environment is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory financial reporting.
• Good understanding of local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Hands‑on experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial statements, including both system-generated transactions and manual journal entries.
• Experience working with auditors, tax authorities, and external service providers.
• Ability to effectively manage and collaborate with internal and external service providers.
• Experience overseeing accounting activities across multiple legal entities or countries.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
• Experience with SAP and CPM Beacon (SAP BPC), or similar ERP and financial systems, is an advantage.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
